2026 Guide to Coastal Georgia 4th of July Fireworks

America turns 250 this year, and the coast is marking the occasion with shows lighting up the water all the way from the Savannah River down to the St. Marys. Most of the big coastal Georgia 4th of July fireworks shows go off on Saturday, July 4, but a couple of towns are kicking off early on Saturday, June 27, so do not wait around to make your plans!

Here is where to find every show on or near the coast, what makes each one worth the drive, and the details you need to claim a good spot before the sun goes down.

Savannah 4th of July Fireworks

Savannah is the closest you’ll get to a big-city fireworks show on our little coast, and they do it up right. They’ll be firing the show off a barge in the river, so there is no bad seat along the waterfront.

• Where: Anywhere along River Street, Savannah
• When: Saturday, July 4, 2026, with the celebration running from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m.
• Fireworks: Around 9:30 p.m.

Tybee Island 4th of July Fireworks

If fireworks on the beach are your thing, you’re definitely our people. Tybee launches their show out over the ocean from the pier, so this is your spot for toes-in-the-sand fireworks.

• Where: Tybee Island Pier and Pavilion, 1 Tybrisa Street
• When: Saturday, July 4, 2026
• Fireworks: Around 9:15 p.m.

Richmond Hill

You’ll find the Richmond Hill 4th of July fireworks show kicking off a little early, which is perfect if you have other plans on the 4th. Richmond Hill throws its bash the Saturday before the holiday, with beach music, inflatables for the kids, and a big show over J.F. Gregory Park.

• Where: J.F. Gregory Park, 521 Cedar Street, Richmond Hill
• When: Saturday, June 27, 2026, with festivities starting at 4:00 p.m. The Boondockers take the stage at 4:30 p.m. and The Swingin’ Medallions follow at 6:00 p.m.
• Fireworks: At sundown, around 9:00 p.m.

Darien 4th of July Fireworks

Darien is another town that is kicking off early with Red, White and Blue on the Bluff, a free night of live music, food, and fireworks right over the river at the waterfront.

• Where: Darien Waterfront Park, 107 Fort King George Drive, Darien
• When: Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m.
• Fireworks: After dark, around 9:00 p.m.
• Good to know: Coolers are welcome for a $10 fee, and beer and wine are available for purchase for guests over 21

Brunswick 4th of July Fireworks

Downtown Brunswick leans all the way into the old-fashioned thing, with kids games, free watermelon, and food trucks before the sky show over the water.

• Where: Mary Ross Waterfront Park, Historic Downtown Brunswick
• When: Saturday, July 4, 2026, with games and food starting around 6:15 p.m.
• Fireworks: At dark, around 9:00 p.m., over the East River

St. Simons Island 4th of July Fireworks

The Sunshine Festival has been going strong for more than 60 years, and this year they’re going even bigger for the 250th with all-day music and family fun in Pier Village.

• Where: Neptune Park and Pier Village, St. Simons Island
• When: Saturday, July 4, 2026. The festival runs from 10:00 a.m. with live music and activities into the evening, and the Sunshine Festival 5K starting at 7:00 a.m.
• Fireworks: Around 9:00 p.m. over the water, with free admission and parking

Sea Island

Sea Island runs its own celebration at The Cloister and Beach Club, so this one is reserved for guests and members rather than the general public.

• Where: The Cloister and Beach Club, Sea Island
• When: Saturday, July 4, 2026
• Fireworks: Around 9:00 p.m., for guests and residents only

Jekyll Island 4th of July Fireworks

Jekyll spreads the party across two days and is sending up what it bills as its biggest show yet, best watched with your feet in the sand on the beach.

• Where: Great Dunes Beach Park and Oceanview Beach Park, Jekyll Island
• When: Friday and Saturday, July 3 to 4, 2026. A carnival runs July 3 from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m., and live music July 4 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Fireworks: Around 9:00 p.m. on July 4
• Good to know: The Jekyll Island parking fee goes up on July 4th, so be prepared to pay a bit more than usual to get on the island!

St. Marys

Way down at the Florida line, St. Marys throws a hometown festival on the waterfront with a parade, races, and fireworks over the river.

• Where: St. Marys Waterfront, downtown St. Marys
• When: Saturday, July 4, 2026. The parade starts at 10:00 a.m. with festival activities all day, and the 5K and 10K races start at 7:00 a.m.
• Fireworks: Around 9:15 p.m. over the St. Marys River

Before You Go

Wherever you land, get there early. Parking fills up fast, the good spots go faster, and half the fun is settling in with a chair and a cold drink while you wait for the first shell to pop.

Times can shift with the weather, so it never hurts to double-check with the host before you load up the car.
