Jekyll Island
Nearby, the Jekyll Island Historic District offers a glimpse into the island’s history, with beautiful old buildings and a museum. Summer Waves Water Park is right around the corner from all of Jekyll Island’s beaches, as well!
Be sure to check out the Georgia Sea Turtle Center, where you can learn about conservation efforts and see sea turtles being rehabilitated.

Oceanview Beach Park
- What makes it special: Located about 20 minutes from Brunswick, Oceanview Beach Park is a family-friendly spot with wide sandy shores. You can enjoy swimming, building sandcastles, and even spot some dolphins.
- Amenities: Free parking makes your day stress-free. There are public restrooms and shower facilities, too. You’ll even find group picnic areas here that are equipped with grills under covered pavilions.

Driftwood Beach
- What makes it special: Known for its unique driftwood formations, this beach is about 25 minutes from Brunswick. The weathered trees create a magical landscape, perfect for photography. Take a stroll and explore the natural art.

Great Dunes Beach Park
- What makes it special: This 20-acre beachfront park has picnic pavilions, bocce ball and volleyball courts, and is conveniently located across from playgrounds, a mini-golf course, and bicycle and Segway rentals. It is a popular spot for families during the warm weather months.
- Amenities: Ample parking, restrooms, and showers are available.
Corsair Beach Park
- What makes it special: This beach park is located between the Jekyll Island Ocean Club and the Days Inn. Close to the Jekyll Beach Village, this park is super convenient if you’re staying on Jekyll.
- Amenities: ADA accessible bathrooms, picnic pavilions, outdoor showers, and public parking are all available here!

South Dunes Beach Park
- What makes it special: This beach features an elevated boardwalk crossing 20-foot sand dunes, beach access, observation deck, and freshwater pond. It is a perfect spot for a relaxing day.
- Amenities: Picnic tables, grills, and pavilions as well as restrooms and shower facilities.

St. Andrews Beach Park
- What makes it special: A short walk from Jekyll Point, the southern-most tip of the Island. It’s a popular spot for watching migratory birds as well as groups of dolphins. The beach park features a two-story wildlife viewing platform and the Wanderer Memory Trail.
- Amenities: The small, picturesque beach doesn’t belong to any resorts or hotels so it has few visitors in contrast with other beaches. Parking is limited so get there early!
Glory Beach
- What makes it special: You might be a bit confused when you pull into the location of “glory beach” and see nothing but soccer fields. Don’t be fooled! Take the boardwalk through the maritime forest near the parking lot and you’ll be treated to the beautiful, expansive beach where the movie Glory was filmed.
- Amenities: You won’t find any amenities here, just beautiful pristine nature.

St. Simons Island
You’ll love hitting the beach on SSI because the nearby Pier Village has shops, restaurants, and the Neptune Park Fun Zone for family entertainment. After a day at the beach, explore the St. Simons Lighthouse Museum which offers stunning views from the top.

East Beach
- What makes it special: Just a short 15-minute drive from Brunswick, St. Simons Island East Beach is known for its picturesque scenery. It’s a great place for sunbathing and collecting seashells. If you are staying on the east side of the island you’ll find several public beach access points in addition to the parking lot.
- Amenities: Here you’ll find free parking as well as a well-stocked concessions stand. Bathrooms and shower facilities are also available. If the weather takes a turn for the worse, head right across the parking lot to the home front museum to learn a little history indoors while you wait for the storm to pass.

- Emil Cottage – 4 Bedrooms and 4.5 baths just steps from the beach
- Seagate – 4 Bedrooms and 4 baths with an ocean view
Massengale Park
- What makes it special: This is a relaxed, shady spot that is perfect for families who want to hit the beach but also want to be able to get out of the sun. A large tidal pool formed in 2022 between the parking area and the beachfront. Glynn County has installed a floating, moveable bridge across the tidal pool for easier beach access. The county has actually won an award for this ingenious design.
- Amenities: Here you’ll find picnic area, grills, a children’s playground, restrooms, and open beach access. They even have water fountains that are specifically designed for your furry friends!

Gould’s Inlet
- What makes it special: This is one of our favorite places for taking a sunset walk along the Georgia Coast. You’ll often spot dolphins playing in the water here and it’s the perfect spot of a picnic in the sand. While it isn’t a great spot for swimming because of the rip currents, this is a great walking beach!
- Amenities: There is a bit of parking available here and a hose for washing the sand off of feet and fur babies, but you won’t find any other amenities.

Sea Island
Sea Island offers more activities than you can shake a stick at! The activity center is perfect for checking in the kids so they can go on fun adventure with the staff while you hit the spa, the golf course, go horseback riding, or just about anything else you can imagine!
- What makes it special: Sea Island is a private island, so you’ll have to be a guest at one of their properties to come to the beach here (unless you’re lucky enough to be a homeowner). Once you’re in, you’ll find a beautiful property surrounded by maritime forests with an upscale beach club and a luxurious beach.
- Amenities: You’ll find all the very best amenities at the beach club including a pool, an upscale restaurant, and so much more.

Little St. Simons Island
Little St. Simons Island is one of the most untouched islands on the eastern seaboard. You can only access the island by boat arranged by the Lodge at Little St. Simons Island. You can book at trip to the island by having a reservation made at the Lodge or by booking a guided tour through the Lodge.
- What makes it special: Although not as easily accessible, Little St. Simons Island is a pristine and untouched paradise with miles of shoreline. You’ll need to take a boat from St. Simons Island, but it’s worth the short journey. The island is a nature lover’s dream, with birdwatching and guided tours.
- Amenities: You’ll find no amenities at the beach here- Just beautiful, untouched coastline.
