With its proximity to some of the most bountiful waters in the south, Brunswick Ga is a hidden gem for seafood lovers.
Fresh local seafood is practically the middle name of this coastal Georgia town. While many think of it as the gateway to the Golden Isles, Brunswick can claim its rightful spot as a community deeply rooted in the fishing and shrimping industry. Along with those roots come a number of restaurants with delicious seafood and they’re all listed here.

Michael’s Deli & Seafood
An unusual combination, but Michael’s makes it work and they have a devoted following of locals. They recently moved to a brand spankin’ new location, and it’s conveniently located close to Interstate 95. Their menu includes shrimp, fish and homemade crab cakes plus Coastal Georgia’s classic side dish Mr.- cheese grits. Chicken fingers are a great choice for landlubbers.
Marshside Grill
This one is located – guess where? Yes, it’s marshside and has the prettiest views in Brunswick, in our opinion. Many locals and visitors alike think that this is the best seafood restaurant in town. The menu includes southern favorites like fried shrimp and fish, Brunswick Stew and homemade tartar sauce plus a mighty fine cole slaw.
There is a full bar, which is often crowded with regulars. Be sure to check them out at happy hour for a great local vibe!

Jinright’s Seafood House
It’s not much to look at on the outside but Jinright’s has been serving up fresh seafood in Brunwick for over 36 years. Staying power like that only happens when it’s well deserved. The friendly service here is full of good old fashioned southern charm that’ll warm your heart. Your non-seafood eating friends can get a good burger or chicken.
Jinright’s has a full bar with a smallish bar for seating if that’s your thing, like it is ours. They even have happy hour specials.
Mr. Shuck’s Seafood
Mr. Shucks is owned and run by fine, friendly people who love nothing better than to serve up some delicious seafood. Most everything served here comes from the seafood capital of Georgia – Darien, which is just up the road a few miles. (If you’re willing to drive just a bit you can check out the Darien Ga Restaurants, too.)
Mr. Shuck’s raw bar serves up oysters on the half shell, but you can get your oysters, shrimp and fish cooked any number of ways. Be sure to check out their garlic crabs!
Insiders tip: We like to cook seafood at home too, and this is one of our favorite places to buy in Brunswick. Connected to Mr. Shuck’s dining room is their seafood market with many of the same choices they serve on the restaurants side. They don’t display everything so you may want to ask about the daily specials.

A short drive across the causeway will take you to Saint Simons Island. Georgia Sea Grill is one of our favorite places for fresh local fish, but you’ll also love Barbara Jeans. They’re famous for their crab cakes.

Darien, Ga Restaurants
We consider Darien to be the shrimping capital of Georgia due to the shrimp fleet based here. The Blessing of the Fleet is an annual event that you need to get on your calendar!
Having all of that fresh seafood means they naturally have some long time great restaurants too. Two of our favorites are Skipper’s Fish Camp and Mudcat Charlies, but they can all be found in the post Darien Ga Restaurants.
