Whether you’re visiting the Golden Isles or are a local looking for a fun night out, here is everything you need to know about the best bars in Brunswick, GA! No need to head to the islands – Brunswick is a super fun town in its own right, perfect for girls’ nights out, date nights, and bar crawling with your friends.
I absolutely love spending my evenings in Brunswick, but lots of people like to spend at least one night of their trip on St. Simons Island. If that’s you, be sure to check out the best bars on St. Simons Island, too!

When I first moved from Atlanta to Brunswick, the nightlife was a concern of mine. We’re empty nesters who love a night out. We knew the bars on St. Simons Island like the back of our hands, but what about Brunswick?
Well, I’m happy to report that I LOVE the bars in Brunswick, GA! For fancy craft cocktails, head to Little Zooks. To watch the Georgia game, head to Cooter Brown’s. And to find out more, keep reading!
The Complete Guide to Brunswick gives all the details you need to know.
Best Bars in Downtown Brunswick
Little Zooks

Little Zooks is definitely one of our favorite bars in Brunswick, GA. The owner, Jennifer, and the main bartender, Jay, are the absolute best people, and you won’t be able to get enough of their cocktails!
At Zooks you can expect craft cocktails, beers, and spirits (no Miller Lite and Fireball here!) and a super funky atmosphere. They call themselves “Brunswick’s Oldest Psychadelic Discotheque” and who are we to argue?
They also have a free pool table, dart board, and ping pong, so there’s plenty to do while you sip on your delicious cocktails. Plus, there’s just something that feels so fancy getting served a drink topped with a fresh flower, a sprig of mint, or a piece of candied ginger.
Hours:
Tuesday – Saturday 6:00 pm – 12:00 am
Silver Bluff Brewing Company

This local brewery is another favorite of the community. On a day when the weather is nice, you’ll find the beer garden packed with groups enjoying the delicious local beers and playing cornhole.
If you’re not a beer drinker, don’t worry – I’m not either! Silver Bluff also carries wine, frozen margaritas and froses, and “electric lemonade” which is spiked and can be ordered in a variety of flavors.
Silver Bluff is kid-friendly, too, so they have non alcoholic drinks available in the taproom. While they don’t have food on-site, there are food trucks just about every day, so stop by and see what’s for dinner tonight!
Hours:
Monday – Thursday 4:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Friday 4:00 pm – 10:00 pm
Saturday 12:00 pm – 10:00 pm
Sunday 12:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Tipsy McSways
Tipsy McSways is definitely a locals spot, and it’s been standing strong in downtown Brunswick for longer than just about any other business.
At Tipsy’s you can expect awesome pub food, live music Thursday – Saturday, and a family-friendly atmosphere. Be sure to check the Tipsy’s website to see what live music is coming up!

Downtown Cooter Brown’s
One of the newest bars in Brunswick, GA, Cooter Brown’s is the place to watch the game. With a whole wall of TVs (and others scattered throughout the space), you’ll be able to catch all the games your heart desires.
The food at Cooter Brown’s is out of this world, too, and I love that they serve food late night on Fridays and serve brunch on the weekends – perfect for catching those early games!

Monday – Thursday 11:00 am – 10:00 pm
Friday 11:00 am – 12:00 am

The Study

If you’ve been to Reid’s Apothecary, one of the best restaurants in Brunswick, GA, you may or may not have heard of The Study. Did you hear music faintly drifting from behind the walls towards the end of dinner? Did you see people walk toward the bathrooms and never come back?
Welcome to The Study! This speakeasy-style bar is located behind Reid’s Apothecary and is absolutely one of the best bars in Brunswick, GA. It has a lounge atmosphere, craft cocktails, and you’ll find live music every night.
You’re supposed to call Reid’s for a password between 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm the day you want to visit, but I’ll be honest – no one has ever asked me for a password. That’s just as well because I’ve always forgotten to make the call – don’t let that stop you!
Hours:
Thursday – Saturday 8:00 pm – 12:00 am
Driftwood Wine & Cocktails

The new kid on the block, Driftwood Wine & Cocktails is quickly becoming one of my favorite bars in Brunswick. Here you’ll find a small but gorgeous space serving up craft cocktails, curated wines, and beautiful charcuterie.
Listening to the needs of the community, the owner Sunshine recently began opening as a wifi cafe during the day on weekdays. This gives those of us who work from home (like yours truly) a space to work while enjoying a sandwich or a sneaky mimosa!
You’ll also find live music and other events happening at DWC, like wine tastings, singles nights, industry nights, and more. Keep an eye on their Instagram to see what’s coming up!
Hours:
Monday – Tuesday 4:00 pm – 10:00 pm
Wednesday – Sunday 11:00 am – 10:00 pm
Happy Hour 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm Daily
Other Great Bars in Brunswick GA
Outside the downtown area, you can also find lots of bars that are a bit more on the divey side. I personally LOVE a dive bar, so that’s not a shot at these awesome establishments!
Boondox
They may have changed names over the years, but the spirit is the same. Boondox also might seem a little far-flung out on Blythe Island, but I promise it’s worth the trip.
Inside, you’ll find a quintessential dive bar with cheap drinks, karaoke, pool tables, and a crowd of regulars who seem like they’ve known each other forever.
Outside, you’ll find a wide open space with a stage for live music, an additional bar, and picnic tables for enjoying the show! We love coming here for live music like the Pine Box Dwellers, who play here weekly.
Hours:
Tuesday – Saturday 2:00 pm – 2:00 am
The Hangout
This new spot opened in the Moondoggy’s Pizza space in 2025 and is quickly making a name for itself. We love that there’s something going on every night of the week, from bingo to trivia to live music.
Stop by for their lunch buffet from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm (with homestyle Southern food) or to watch the game. Go Dawgs!
Hours:
Daily 11:00 am – 9:00 pm
Toucan’s Ale House
Toucan’s is a great place to watch the game, grab a bite to eat, and see live music on the weekends!
Hours:
Daily 11:00 am – 10:00 pm
Wee Pub Brunswick
I love sitting at the bar when we visit Wee Pub because the bartenders are awesome! This is another great place to grab a bite to eat (the food is great!) and watch the game – It’s especially fun on St. Patrick’s Day!
Hours:
Sunday – Thursday 11:00 am – 11:00 pm
Friday – Saturday 11:00 am – 12:00 am
