Beer drinkers rejoice! In the port city you will find more breweries with creative, limited edition batches of beer than you can shake a stick at.
Savannah is becoming a hub for craft breweries and what better place for it than this? With the open-container laws in the historic district, you can enjoy your brew on the go while you explore River Street and the rest the city has to offer.
Whether you spend your day relaxing at one of these Savannah breweries or plan a brewery crawl to visit them all, here are the best breweries in Savannah, GA.

Moon River Brewing Company
This brewery on West Bay Street (located in one of Savannah’s most haunted buildings) is an absolute must-visit for beer lovers. Open 7 days a week, Moon River always has something going on from live music to trivia night.
In addition to their crafts beers like my personal favorite, Wacky Wit, a Belgian-style wheat air spiced with Curacao bitter orange peel, coriander seed, and a touch of chamomile, you’ll also find hearty comfort food on the menu. A few favorites are peel & eat shrimp, tacodillas, pork shoulder sandwiches, and chicken & sausage creole.
And if you have non-beer drinkers in your group, there’s something for them here, too! Moon River has a wine list and signature cocktails like the River Mary (their take on a Bloody Mary) and a mojito made with coconut rum and a wildberry coconut mint shrub.
Insider Tip: Grab a bottle of wine for half off on Wednesdays at Moon River! Every day you’ll find happy hour specials from 4:00-7:00 with deals like $3 well liquor and house wine and $1 off their original beers. Trivia is every Sunday from 6:00-8:00.
Two Tides Brewing Co.
In the heart of Savannah you’ll find Two Tides Brewing Company, the perfect place for craft beer enthusiasts. They’ve quickly risen to fame in the brewing scene with their creative brews. The have a wide variety of hazy IPAs and sours, but you’ll also find stouts and lagers being poured here.
In addition to the taproom, you’ll also find Crispi, a food truck located at the entrance (known for their delicious smash burgers, one of the best burgers in Savannah), Smol Bar, the smallest craft cocktail bar in Savannah, and Float Coffee shop!
Stop by on hump days for Pizza Wednesdays and check out their beer slushies for a unique way to beat the Savannah heat.
Insider Tip: Two Tides is kid and pet-friendly! Kids are allowed until 9:00 pm (if they are accompanied by a responsible adult) and well behaved pets are allowed on a leash.
Southbound Brewing Company
Established in 2013, Southbound Brewing Co. is one of the best of the Savannah breweries! The taproom features up to 20 different beers on tap and their beer garden is the perfect place to relax with a delicious brew.
You’ll find food trucks on site regularly and live music often, so check their social media to see who is cooking and playing today!
Join the Facebook group Coastal Georgia Foodies! It’s where everyone with an interest in Coastal Georgia food can share their favorite places to eat, food events, resources for buying local and restaurant news.
Service Brewing Co.
This veteran-owned craft brewery focuses on small batches authentic American-made beers created with high quality local ingredients. Don’t miss the brewery tours for a behind-the-scenes look at how these guys create their variety of beers.
Best of all, Service Brewing company has helped raise tens of thousands of dollars for local, regional and national organizations that assist veterans and first responders. This is a place where you can feel good about spending your hard earned dollars on a great beer!
Hop Atomica
Opened in 2020, this brewery and gastropub may be one of the newest on the Savannah beer scene, but they are definitely pros when it comes to crafting delicious beer.
Be sure to check out their in-house art gallery, which features work by local artists and do not skip the food menu. Their wood-fired pizzas are to die for and I’m a big fan of The Stallion sandwich with mortadella, salami, soppressata, pepperoni, and provolone. Don’t miss this great place on your next trip to Savannah!
Coastal Empire Beer Co.
This is Savannah’s most award winning brewery with 13 medals awarded in international beer competitions! It’s a little off the beaten path in an industrial area of Savannah, but don’t let that throw you off. The bartenders are a lot of fun and the beers (especially the Black IPA) are out of this world so you’re sure to have a good time here.
They hold regular tours and tastings, so swing by the taproom Tuesday-Sunday to check them out!
Insider Tip: If you’re visiting the Savannah area in an RV, this place is on Harvest Host! Sleepover at the brewery? Yes, please!
